Reconfinement: hairdressers and beauticians prohibited from travelling to the home

In the end, getting a haircut will not be possible. The hope for hairdressing and aesthetics professionals to be able to officiate at home has just been swept away this morning by various ministers.

You will again have to improvise yourself as a professional scissor and fringe cutter during this reconfinement. Contrary to what was announced last weekend, hair salons, beauty salons and spas will not be able to offer their services at home.

« The home is even more dangerous than in a salon ».
Professionals believed in it. On Thursday, October 29, the Prefect of the Dordogne, Frédéric Périssat, told France Bleu that « hairdressers working in the homes of their clients [could] continue their activity, provided that they have the agreement of the people and respect the health protocol. The next day, the spokeswoman for the Ministry of the Interior, Camille Chaize, confirmed the information.

But on Monday, November 2, the bell rang differently. « The home is even more dangerous than in a living room, » said on BFM TV Alain Griset, Minister Delegate in charge of SMEs. In living rooms, there are protocols that have been put in place. They respected the sanitary protocols. And a hairdresser who would go at home would enter a place that is not secured ».

At the same time, the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, said on RTL that it was not « understandable for a hairdressing salon that has made every effort to adapt to the health safety rules, that has put gel at the entrance, asked that hairdressers be masked, that at the same time there could be hairdressing at home ». And to add: « We can count on the sense of responsibility of the French. It is immense and they show it every day in the face of this crisis. They must know that it is not reasonable to let a hairdresser come to your home. »
